CONCERT COMMISSIONS

  • WHALEFALL

Inspired by the natural phenomenon of whalefall - a process by which a whale dies and sinks to the seafloor, thus creating and sustaining ocean ecosystems for centuries. The work draws parallels between a whale's lasting legacy and the legacies we'll leave in our own lives.

    DANCERS

  • PASTURE

Pasture emerged in response to the poem Two-Headed Calf by Laura Gilpin. It aimed to find the beauty amidst tragedy, calm within a storm, and the shared understanding woven within grief.

  • HYSTERA

Hystera (Greek, meaning "of the womb") was born from an investment in understanding the history of mental health diagnosis and treatment in women and its longstanding impact on modern attitudes towards feminine dispositions, specifically regarding  hysteria, institutionalization, and medical sexual abuse.

    PAST LIFE

Based on the concept of Samsara and reincarnation from Tibetan Buddhism, this work follows one soul-in the form of many bodies- as it works to identify and break the patterns that keep it trapped in an unforgiving cycle.

    IN HER SHADE

A reexamination of the popular children's book, The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. In Her Shade explored themes of selfless giving and its consequences, girlhood to womanhood to motherhood, and the feminine societal conditioning to share.

  • NOW & THEN

A farewell to a lost friend, Now & Then navigates loss, grief, nostalgia and acceptance. Tender airiness, supportive connection and a forward driving open heart propelled the first official commission of my choreographic career.
